The kitchen is one of the busiest places in the house but also the most important for organisation and cleanliness. So how can you plan to redesign your kitchen so that it provides the ultimate in storage space?
Read some tips from our expert kitchen designers on designing proper storage for your custom kitchen:
Choose drawers over cupboards
Drawers help to ensure that you have easy access to all of the supplies in your kitchen. Compared to a cupboard, a drawer doesn’t end up with tins and bottles shoved to the back!
Add in bespoke pull-outs
If you have small areas of wasted space in between shelves or appliances, consider asking your kitchen designer to install a custom fitted pull-out shelf to store your herbs and spices. A pull-out shelf also allows you easy access to easily view a large variety of bottles and helps to declutter the kitchen.
Create a hot drinks station
Impress visitors with a bespoke coffee & tea station that can be concealed when not in use to make the kitchen feel tidier!
Install a custom kitchen pantry
When it comes to pantry design, the area should be big enough to store a weeks’ worth of groceries. Whilst size does matter when it comes to pantries, a bespoke kitchen can allow you a pantry even in the smallest of spaces.
Add in a separate home bar
Move your bottles into a custom home bar to create a luxurious area for your spirits! Add seating and a television for the ultimate in entertainment.
Shelves over the sink
Adding shelfing above the sink can allow you easy access to key utensils and can create a lovely space for displaying decorative objects. Consider adding in a drying shelf to clear up worktops, too!
Include a wine chiller
Installing a luxury wine chiller adds sophistication and organisation to your custom kitchen. We recommend using Miele appliances and have installed many of these types of wine chillers into our bespoke kitchen designs.
