TikTok is taking over the world and one of the more popular topics for TikToks is home tours showcasing home design and décor trends. The team at Bespoke Interiors is currently too busy designing and installing bespoke kitchens and bedrooms to make our own TikToks, but we have had a little look into the top home design trends that are now dominating TikTok!
Natural elements, retro vibes, and minimalism are some of the most popular trends in home design. Here’s a round up of some ideas for designing an on-trend kitchen in 2021:
#Cottagecore
This aesthetic is the top interior design trend so far this year – GoCompareHome’s survey found over 5.3billion Cottagecore hashtags trending on TikTok!
Cottagecore draws on rural England and inspires romantic, countryside vibes that harness a mixture of history and nature. To get the look, use light woods, pastel shades, and natural stone in your home design. Opt for décor that features houseplants, antiques, and floral patterns.
#Midcenturymodern
Functional, simple home designs inspired by the 1950s and ‘60s are popular with all ages at the moment. Mid- century modern kitchens featuring organic influences, peg-legged furniture and dramatic lighting are all over TikTok.
Capture this style with minimalistic furniture, pops of colour in velvet and retro artwork.
#Wallpanelling
We’ve all been stuck inside staring at the walls of our homes for far too long, so it’s no surprise that wall panelling has taken off. Choose a bright geometric pattern to add some excitement to your room.
Using pink in home design
Calming light pink is an up-and-coming colour in interior design. Add in a tiny touch of pink velvet or with kitchen accessories to try out this design trend.
#Kitchenpantry
Get organised with a bespoke kitchen pantry to keep up with #kitchengoals. Pantries help to declutter your kitchen and create the optimum space for entertaining guests for the dinner parties we have all been looking forward to for so long.
