Corian is a man-made material developed by DuPont in the 1960s. It is a combination of acrylic polymer and minerals, with added colourants. Originally made in one shade, it is now available in over 100 different colours.

- As a non-porous material, it is a hygienic choice, with a smooth seamless appearance. Corian can prevent the growth of dirt and bacteria and liquids cannot penetrate its surface.
- Corian worktops can be jointed almost invisibly. This unique feature allows for upstands to appear moulded to the worktop and for large islands that would have a visible joint if made from quartz, to look like one seamless surface. If your island length is over 3.2 metres, Corian is the way to go!
- Due to the way it was constructed, Corian is extremely durable. It can withstand a lot of weight, increasing the longevity of your worktops.
- You can say goodbye to stains. Corian is extremely stain-resistant, especially compared to quartz worktops.
- With over 100 different colours and designs, Corian can suit a range of styles and rooms including bathrooms and kitchens.
- It may not be scratch resistant, but it is easy to repair by sanding or using repair kits – much easier than other worktop materials.
